Joan Loskiewictz

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Loskiewictz (nee Morris) on July 2, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on May 25, 1937, in Boston, Massachusetts, Joan was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her remarkable life was filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and community. Joan was the cherished daughter of the late Ida (Baggett) Morris and Owen Morris. She was the youngest of her siblings and was preceded in death by her beloved brother and sisters, John Morris (Franny), Barbara Merryman (Rich), and Eileen Ashton(George). Family was the cornerstone of Joan's life, and she embraced her role as the family's matriarch with grace, strength, and unconditional love. In 1954, Joan married the love of her life, the late William "Boachie" Loskiewictz Sr. Together they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage, building a home filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. Joan is survived by her devoted children, Patricia Seay (Charles), William Loskiewictz Jr. (the late Marie "Kim"), and Joseph Loskiewictz (Theresa). She was a proud and loving grandmother to Kristin, Billy and Devon, and a great-grandmother to Dennis, Brandon, Georgia, Luna, Dean, and Nova. Nothing brought her greater joy than seeing her family together. Joan worked as a secretary for most of her life, a role she carried out with dedication, professionalism, and pride. Outside of work, she was a woman of many talents. She loved cooking and was known for her creativity in the kitchen, even created her own cookbook. Holiday celebrations and Sunday dinners were among her greatest joys, and her face would light up as she watched her family gathered under the same roof. Joan's adventurous spirit was matched only by her determination. Whether she was sewing a wedding dress from scratch or setting out to find a farmers market on a rainy day, she approached every challenge with confidence and heart. She believed there was nothing she couldn't accomplish once she set her mind to it. Joan and her family established their home on Galloway Street, where they created countless memories over the years. She was famous for her unmistakable voice—everyone on Galloway Street knew when she was calling for "Boachie." That familiar echo became part of the street itself, Galloway Street will forever miss the echo of her voice. Joan's heart was always open. She was a compassionate listener especially for her children and grandchildren, also a trusted friend, and someone who was always ready to help anyone in need. Her love for animals was endless, and she never hesitated to care for a dog or cat that crossed her path. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love touched countless lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Joan's family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered. Relatives and friends are invited to Joan’s Viewing and Funeral, Wednesday, July 8, 2026 after 8 AM until 10 AM at the Rachubinski Funeral Home of Queen Village, 781 South Front Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1404 South 3rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19147 at 10:30 AM.
